The Pediatric Mental Health Service cares for children up to 13 years of age using an interdisciplinary approach. Children are admitted to two different areas of the Hospital: the Outpatient Offices or the Pediatric Hospitalization Room. At the Outpatients Offices psycho diagnosis, learning-process assessment, psychiatric care, psychopharmacology and psychiatric urgencies are dealt with as well as early stimulation, individual, family and group psychotherapies, among other treatments. The interdisciplinary team for the Down Syndrome child treatment can be consulted here. At the Pediatric Hospitalization Room, on the other hand, the Service offers psychological support to children at the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. |
