The professionals at the Rheumatology Service are widely experienced in diagnosing and treating rheumatic diseases, among which arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus, Still’s and Paget’s diseases and maxillary osteoporosis may be mentioned. The area makes every effort to improve patients’ care by working in a coordinate, programmed and supervised manner and by offering the latest diagnostic and therapeutic techniques selected for each particular case. Besides, Rheumatology has outpatient offices working in two shifts, morning and afternoon. Difficult cases are assessed by the treating physician and the Head of the Service. The Service organizes self-help groups for patients with certain rheumatic diseases. |
