| Description |
The Otorhinolaryngology Service has four offices for ambulatory patients, two offices for Phonoaudiology and a sound muffling cabin for audiology tests. The paranasal sinuses endoscopy surgery to treat rhynosinusal pathologies is one of the outstanding procedures in the Service. The “Laryngology and Voice” subspecialty is devoted to functional analysis and treats pathologies of the human voice with state of the art equipment. Objective functional tests of the voice are performed, such as video fibrolaryngostroboscopy. At the Otology area highly complex cases are treated and cochlear implants are surgically implanted. Also important to mention is the sector that studies audition, the problems of human communication – with special emphasis on the voice – the deglutition disorders and the functional labyrinthine disorders.
