| Description |
The Orthopedics and Traumatology Service provides treatment to a high percentage of the patients coming to the Hospital, many of them for minor procedures such as reduction of fractures, luxations and plasters. With the aim of offering a better service to the patients, the full time physicians in this sector are all practicing subspecialties: spine, hip, shoulder and elbow, knee, leg and foot, hand and trauma. Nevertheless, the Service has large experience in hip and knee prosthesis insertion, as well as in internal fixation of fractures, which are, in many cases, performed by minimal incisions under radiological control. The Service also has a Bone Bank that is used for procedures to repair highly complex bone defects in compliance with the present development of Traumatology medicine.
