| Description |
The Nutrition Service Professionals care for hospitalized patients and for ambulatory patients who request their services by appointment. The Service organizes home visits for patients needing parenteral or enteral nutrition support therapy. The area has an office specialized in anorexia and bulimia, which organizes multidisciplinary treatments with professionals from other areas. Both consultations on obesity and morbid obesity (including lap band, gastric balloon and intestinal by pass) and problems related to nutrition and sports are managed at a specially prepared office. Other fields covered by the Nutrition Service are the open-to-the-community meetings, where talks are given on subjects such as obesity, arterial hypertension, prevention of food behavior disorders, functional diets and atherosclerosis. Nutritional assessment to determine the percentage of muscle mass and fat mass and sports anthropometry are also within the scope of services offered by our Area.
