Neurosciences Department > Neurosurgery Service

Description

The Neurosurgery Service treats practically all affections related to this specialty 24 hours a day at the outpatient offices, emergency service, and programmed surgical procedures.  The Operating Room is furnished with state of the art technology, including a MDU Karl Zeiss microscope, an ultrasonic Selektor aspirator, intracranial pressure monitors, neurophysiologic monitoring and intraoperative echography. The area is supported by the Image Department, whose equipment includes two magnetic resonance imaging equipments and two computed tomographers.

These practices are complemented by the Intensive Care Unit, where neurophysiologic monitoring is performed, both to patients that have been operated on and to those suffering from serious pathologies, such as acute or traumatic vascular accidents.
