The Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Service treats patients who experience functional limitations for daily activities or work as a consequence of their suffering from different pathologies (traumatic rheumatologic, neurological, cardiovascular and respiratory, among the most frequent). Since one of the aims of the Service is to prevent disabilities, programs to educate on the risks of functional loss due to diseases are developed as well as treatment plans for recovery in case health is already compromised.

The Therapeutic Gym is equipped with all the required exercising elements for the different pathologies and it complies with established protocols, which may be adapted to the special needs of each patient. There is also a gym for inpatients, conceived as a possibility to initiate mobilization and walking in an environment that provides privacy and support, and boxes for individual treatment, equipped with hydrocollator, electroanalgesia, ultrasound and laser ray.

Professionals in the Service integrate different multidisciplinary clinics to manage cardiovascular and respiratory pathologies, diabetic foot and vertebral column diseases, among others..
