| Description |
The Infectology Service is prepared to deal with the challenges of diseases caused by micro organisms (viruses, bacteria, fungus or parasites), either by preventing them or by acting promptly and efficiently when there is an already established infection. The professionals care for hospitalized patients or for those who visit the outpatient offices. Outpatients are advised to request a previous appointment by calling the Hospital switchboard. The Travel Assistance Office offers advice prior to traveling considering the traveler’s destinations, the characteristics of the trip and those of the traveler (age, pregnancy, etc.). It also offers the possibility of contacting the Service during their stay abroad. It is also prepared to diagnose and treat exotic diseases that might occur after they return home. The Service has a Vaccination Centre for adults, with all the vaccines available in the market, including those recommended for special situations, deriving either from illness or traveling. Internationally valid vaccination certificates are issued (endorsed by WHO).
