| Description |
Among the most important practices performed by staff physicians at this Service, Heart Catheterism, Coronary Graph, Pulmonary, Visceral and Lower Limb Artery Graph can be mentioned. The images obtained are recorded on a double system (analogical and digital), with high radiological quality. The modules include one day hospitalization, thus allowing a better control of the patient before and after the catheterism, which is highly relevant when there are associated pathologies (such as nephropathy, diabetes and coagulation disorders). The acute myocardial infarction is treated at the Service by primary angioplasty, a universally accepted technique. The therapeutic decisions arise from the joint analysis by the family doctor and the hemodynamists, together with cardiovascular surgeons, clinical cardiologists, ecographists and nuclear medicine specialists, among others.
