| Description |
The Hematology Service offers care in several areas: General Hematology, Pregnancy Hematology, Oncohematology, Hemostasis, Hereditary Coagulopathy, Autologous and Allogeneic Bone Marrow Transplant, separation of parent cells for myocardium repair and transplant and Cryopreservation Laboratory. The outpatient office is situated in the Policlinic sector. The Service has a lab equipped to study bone marrow and a central lab to perform all immunomarking studies.
The Bone Marrow Transplant area performs treatments with the patient’s own bone marrow or parent cells or through a donor (either a relative or not). This allows, in most cases, to prolong the life expectancy of certain oncology pathologies or the cure of the disease. Although it is a transplant, it does not imply that the patient undergoes surgery.
