The Cardiovascular Surgery Service treats patients with coronary diseases, lung pathologies, cardiac valvulopathy, thoracic aorta diseases and cardiac transplants. It has state of the art equipment to perform the most advanced endovascular intervention techniques. Special emphasis is placed on the use of arterial conducts, minimally invasive techniques and surgery without extracorporeal circulation for coronary revascularization. Valvulopathy treatment is among the regular practices in the service, with the use of new prosthesis, either plastic or homografts, as well as the thoracic aorta surgery, which is a habitual cause for emergency interventions, comprising the aorta ascendens, the aortic arch and the aorta descendens.
