The Service treats diseases, traumatisms and malformations that affect and limit the functions of the buccal cavity and the organs integrating it. The spectrum of pathologies is varied and complex; practices go from exodontia (extraction of teeth) to treating fractures of the bones in the face and the correction of face malformations, to name only a few.
Surgery for ambulatory patients is performed in an Operating Room within the area of the Odontology Department, equipped with all the state of the art technical elements. Surgery procedures requiring general anaesthesia are only performed at the Hospital Central ORs, on the fifth floor. Asepsis and biosafety standards and controls are the highest and are continually monitored. The Service also has an area for temporomaxillary pathology. |
