The Burn Care Centre [Centro de Excelencia para la Asistencia de Quemaduras] (CEPAQ) is made up of an interdisciplinary group that cares for burns at the German Hospital. It is integrated by surgeons, physicians and psychologists, kinesiologists, surgical assistants, nurses, nutritionists and occupational therapists. Scientific advances have contributed new resources to treat serious burns, which allows for the recovery of patients that had no possibilities in the past. The area occupies the 4th floor of the Pueyrredón Tower and has the adequate infrastructure and the necessary equipment to allow professionals to develop their activities under conditions of excellence. The service offers integral treatment through a 24-h emergency call for hospitalization and treatment of patients with minor burns, quick rehabilitation and social insertion, thus avoiding sequels. The Skin Bank and the Skin Culture Laboratory are instrumental to save the lives of critical patients.
